2015 Bentley Continental GT3-R To Arrive at U.S. Dealerships Early Next Year

Bentley GT3R

The 2015 Bentley Continental GT3-R, the most exclusive member of the Continental GT family, will arrive at U.S. dealerships in the first quarter of next year, a Bentley spokesman told Edmunds on Tuesday.

Bentley spokesman Corey Proffitt said an estimated 99 units of the hand-built car will be delivered in the Americas region. Just 300 units of the car will be sold worldwide. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.

The Continental GT3-R, a two-seater that takes aim at high-end vehicles including the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CL63 AMG coupe and the Audi R8 coupe, is inspired by the new Continental GT3 racecar. The production version is powered by a 572-horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine linked to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. "The Continental GT3-R is the fastest-accelerating Bentley ever," the automaker said in a statement. It is capable of reaching 60 mph from a standstill in 3.6 seconds.

Aston Martin DBX Crossover Gets Green Light for Production

Aston Martin DBX

Aston Martin Lagonda on Thursday confirmed that it will build the Aston Martin DBX crossover, giving luxury shoppers another choice in this growing segment.

The "DBX will be sold in the U.S.," Aston Martin spokesman Matthew Clarke told Edmunds. "Our plan is to have renewed the entire current sports car range and added DBX by the end of the decade."

Clarke said pricing information and technical information is not available at this point. When asked to name the key competitors to the DBX, Clarke replied: "In terms of the competition, the idea is to define a new segment rather than chasing existing and appeal to a new (to us) buyer demographic."

The DBX is likely to attract more women and younger buyers to the brand. It is expected to compete against the 2016 Jaguar F-Pace, Land Rover Range Rover Evoque and Porsche Macan.

Land Rover developing more luxurious Evoque

Land Rover Evoque

Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern has confirmed that the company is preparing to introduce a range-topping version of the Range Rover Evoque dubbed SVAutobiography.

Speaking on the sidelines of last week's New York Motor Show, McGovern announced that the upcoming SVAutobiography will be based on the Evoque Autobiography, the lineup's current flagship.

Like the 2016 Range Rover SVAutobiography that was presented in the Big Apple, the posh Evoque will benefit from a sprinkling of model-specific trim pieces on both ends, new wheel designs and emblems as well as an available two-tone paint job.

The cockpit is expected to gain premium equipment including wall-to-wall leather upholstery, knobs and dials machined out of solid aluminum and a long list of standard convenience features. Whether the SVAutobiography will be based on the four-door Evoque or the sportier two-door model is up in the air.

  • British Eurotech is AWESOME!! Owners/founders/mechanics Neil & Nigel (yes, they're English) have been servicing my Jags for TEN years & I couldn't be happier. Their work is top-notch, their prices are so much more reasonable than dealerships, & the work is always completed on time, if not sooner. They are honest & let me know if other things look like they'll need attention soon without trying to hard-sell/up-sell. The first time I went there was back in 2004 when they saved me a bundle over a quote I got from another independent Jag repair shop in town...& I've never looked back since. It is regrettable that some people have had some unfortunate experiences but these are the exception to the rule. Nigel is a GENIUS...more than once I have been at the shop when calls come in from service department mechanics at Jag/Range Rover dealerships to pick his brain on problems they weren't able to troubleshoot in-house!! Plus...they are just the nicest blokes around. - Jade M
